Coffee does not simply grow in Ethiopia, it belongs there. It is no surprise, then, that heirloom varieties grown there offer flavors found nowhere else in the world. Within this legendary coffee country, few producers match the Adinew family of METAD for quality and consistency. METAD operates Africa’s first Coffee Quality Institute certified lab, and the skilled teams at its washing stations apply rigorous quality control. Their work helps thousands of smallholders strengthen their farming practices and earn premium prices. This lot comes from smallholder farmers in METAD’s Kirite network in Guji, Oromia. The cup is elegant, with floral aromatics, crisp green apple, and the sweet tanginess of red currants.

How To Brew

We recommend starting with a 1:18 coffee-to-water ratio, which provides an excellent total extraction level and maximizes flavor pulled out of the ground coffee. For our single origin coffees we recommend a pour over method either on a Chemex, V60 or Kalita Wave on a 5 or 6 grind setting if you are ordering from Intelligentsiacoffee.com.

    Boil Water 205 - 216 F

    Weigh Coffee 1g of coffee per 18g of water
  3. 03.
    Drop In Filter Add filter to equipment
  4. 04.
    Grind Coffee Grind coffee and add to filter
  5. 05.
    Add Water Add water in stages
  6. 06.
    Remove Filter Enjoy your coffee!
